Meeting new people is always scary. Meeting 550 new people in one week is beyond that. I started a long term substitute position for a librarian that retired over winter break and WOW! my head is spinning with names this week!

I wanted to kick off the year with a powerful read allowing students to pause and reflect on who they are and where they are going. I read "I Am Every Good Thing" by Derrick Barnes to K-5. They really connected with the book and then spent time reflecting on things they do "good" and then writing personal goals or "things they want to be good at" in 2022! I'm keeping these so we can take a look back on them before leaving for summer break in May.

Learning Targets:

I can set and revise academic and personal goals.

I can reflect on my strengths and challenges.
